Join Friends of Hackmatack National Wildlife Refuge and partner organizations for these fun celebrations of migratory birds! Learn more about the birds who are returning to our area from their winter homes.
Please dress for the weather as all activities will be held outdoors. Masks should be worn when you are engaging in activities. Please bring your own water and snacks. If you are uncertain whether the events will be held due to weather forecasts, you can call the Friends of Hackmatack NWR phone line (262-448-3558) where we will leave a message on the status of all events.
Saturday at Glacial Park, Lost Valley Visitor Center, there will be Activity Stations and Bird Passports available. Get your passport stamped as you participate in over a dozen games and activities! More stamps = more prizes, including our ever-popular Audubon plush bird that sings its song when squeezed! Door prizes include binoculars, photo prints, and more.
Sunday at Turner Tract Includes a bird hike led by expert birders from Lakeland Audubon Society and Friends of Hackmatack NWR as well as activities to learn more about birds. Bird passports will be stamped and can be redeemed for prizes at the afternoon event at Volo Bog. Parking is limited so please REGISTER HERE and we will send you directions to your reserved parking space.
