Come to the 2025 annual meeting to get a brief recap of our conservation activities and accomplishments. We will present the Hackmatack Hero Awards, and will elect new board members. Refreshments will be provided.
The Friends are honored to present Dr. Michael Jeffords as our guest speaker. Jeffords will discuss how current pressures are affecting the biodiversity of plants, pollinators and other wildlife that are interdependent and on which we depend. Dr. Jeffords, PhD is co-author of Exploring Nature in Illinois: A Field Guide to the Prairie State and will share his unique perspective on our changing world.
Dr. Michael Jeffords is a retired education/outreach director for the Illinois Natural History Survey. He is an entomologist, free-lance photographer, writer and educator focused primarily on the diverse, natural world upon which we depend. He and his wife Susan Post offer field courses to the public about various aspects of biology. Susan is the co-author of “Illinois Wilds” and the author of “Hiking Illinois”.
